Councilmember Alexander chairs the new Committee on Aging and Community Affairs. The committee is dedicated to oversight of community oriented agencies to ensure efficiency and performance of these agencies. The agencies, including the Office of Aging and the Office of Veteran's Affairs, represent diverse populations in the District. Also a newly added agency under the purview of the Committee is the Mayor's Office of Community Relations and Services. This agency serves as the Mayor's primary constituent services organization by providing rapid, complete, coordinated, and documented responses to constituent requests, complaints, and question. The Committee is tasked with the responsibility of oversight to ensure the performance and responsiveness of each agencies under its purview.
