Roundtable on Ward 7 Economic Development

On Wednesday, January 11 Chairman Kwame Brown held a Public Oversight Roundtable on Ward 7 Economic Development Programs/Projects at the Dorothy I. Height Library. Councilmember Yvette M. Alexander was also in attendance. The room was at full capacity with Ward 7 residents, developers and business owners. Witnesses were given time to share their concerns and suggestions for the proposed and ongoing Ward 7 projects that will be completed in the future. Chairman Brown and Councilmember Alexander assured constituents that they would continue to push for approval and completion of the many economic development projects already in progress. Deputy Mayor of Planning and Economic Development Victor Hoskins provided detailed updates on Skyland, Park 7 (Minnesota Avenue and Benning Road), New Communities and many other Ward 7 projects that will begin or be completed within the next three years.
