World Environment Day 2012 Coming to D.C.

On Wednesday, January 11 the District Department of the Environment along with representatives from the United Nations held a press conference at Anne Beers Elementary to announce that Washington, D.C. will be the host of World Environment Day on June 5, 2012. Mayor Vincent Gray, Councilmember Yvette M. Alexander and Councilmember Marion Barry spoke about the ongoing sustainability efforts in the District as well as allowing more people to join the movement via new activities.
